Ava- “I’m hungry ’cause Kevin wouldn’t give me any cheese crackers!”
It’s been a crazy long week although super productive from a work stand point. I just haven’t felt great, I haven’t been running and it’s been too dang cold. I finally decided to stay home on Friday and go to the doctor. When the kids got home my wife brought one of our friends kids over so they could play.
The kids were great and I finally finished my day working around 4:00 PM in the afternoon and started making dinner. My wife ran out for a few minutes and it was then that the kids came upstairs to get some snacks. My kids just went into the pantry and got what they wanted. Ava our fiends little girl asked for some cheese crackers. I think she asked Haley first and Haley said if my dad says yes.
So Ava asks me if she can have cheese crackers. To be honest I’m not sure if I even answered her but I think I said yes. I guess I kind of figured that she would grab them from the cabinet. That’s the end of the story as far as I knew.
So last night after the kids were in bed Ava’s mom comes over to hang out with my wife. We were talking and she says’ I have to tell you this story. “When Ava got home she asked for a snack. So I said sure honey. Then Ava says, Yeah I’m hungry ’cause Kevin wouldn’t give me any cheese crackers!” Margo Ava’s mom was cracking up about it but I felt horrible. Apparently Ava has been well trained not to go into cabinets at other people’s houses. I had figured she would help her self. Guess I’ll have to pay a bit more attention to the requests next time and make sure there is follow through on the snack. Anyway I sent home a bag a cheese crackers for Ava.
